Generally people claim that there is an error in the Quraan since Allah says in the Quraan in Surah 031:034 that only Allah knows what is in the wombs, but now modern science can see what is in the mother’s womb. In reality, they only mentioned one point, while there could be many other aspects including timeframe.

Surely Allah is He with Whom is the knowledge of the hour, and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs; and no one knows what he shall earn tomorrow; and no one knows in what land he shall die; surely Allah is Knowing, Aware, (Al_Quraan_031:034).

In the above verses Allah mentioned that no one knows in what land and at what exact time he/she will die, since even on the death bead one may be moved by others just before his/her death which he/she might not know. Same is true for his/her birth as no one knows when he/she will be born right after intercourse. Also no one knows what he/she will earn tomorrow (during his/her whole life). You must look at it from the appropriate perspective in time that Allah is talking about. Here “know what is in the wombs", refers to all aspects including gender.

So as we can see, not "knowing what is in the womb" entails not knowing the gender, age of death and provisions of the child and whether the child will be a corrupt or righteous person. Obviously, no doctor and no modern scientific equipment can know all of these in advance.

So even if in the future science advances to the extent that we can even have the ability to choose the gender of our child, then this still won't disprove the Quraan. If one does not know about all of the things that I have previously mentioned, then it does not qualify that the person "knows what is in the womb", for these are the matters of the unseen which the verse alludes to.

And their prophet said to them: Surely Allah has raised Talut to be a king over you. They said: How can he hold kingship over us while we have a greater right to kingship than he, and he has not been granted an abundance of wealth? He said: Surely Allah has chosen him in preference to you, and He has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique, and Allah grants His kingdom to whom He pleases, and ALLAH is Bountiful, All-Knowing, (Al_Quraan_002:247).

Here in the above verse Allah grants his kingdom of knowledge and physique which may include about knowing the gender of the child before his/her birth but not knowing all aspects.

In conclusion, there is no scientific error in the Quraan.
